We Need Your Support

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month. In recognition, HCWC is introducing our month-long Listen Believe Support Campaign.

Our goal is to raise a total of $50,000 for services to support members of the community who have experienced violence and abuse.

Throughout the month of April, we will be sharing content across all of our social media platforms as well as hosting online events as we ask the community to come together for this important cause.

We encourage our allies to participate and share our message with their friends and relatives to LISTEN with an open heart, BELIEVE fully, and SUPPORT our neighbors that have experienced abuse with both our words and our wallets!

Join Us for These Exciting Events!

Transitional Housing Livestream

Join us as we livestream a tour of our Transitional Housing Project! We will walk through the construction site and give you a behind-the-scenes look at how the project is coming along!

Live Children’s Book Reading

Join Roxanne’s House Children’s Counselor Heidi Reddin as she livestreams the children’s book My Body Belongs to Me From My Head to My Toes, by Dagmar Geisler and discusses child body safety.

Understanding HEARTeam

Join us for this video we created that illustrates our Hospital Response Program through the eyes of a hospital advocate and learn how you can help survivors of abuse through a difficult time.

Live Film Screening

On Thursday, April 29th we will do a live film screening of the Netflix original movie Moxie and discussing its themes and how youth can stand up against sexual violence.

Other Events

All Month Long – Chalk The Walk

Join us for our second annual Chalk The Walk by chalking your sidewalk with positive messages for the community! Take a photo of your chalked sidewalk and send it to info@hcwc.org. All participants will get a free HCWC gift back and one lucky winner will win an art set and a gift card to their favorite local restaurant! The deadline to submit is Monday, April 26th and the winner will be chosen on Thursday, April 29th.

4.6 – Wear Teal Day

Show your support for survivors of sexual harassment and abuse by wearing teal — the color of sexual violence prevention — on Tuesday, April  6th and post a selfie to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using #StopTheHurt. Send us your photos and we will include them in a video!

4.9 – Wear Blue Day

Wear Blue on Friday, April 9th to show your commitment to raising awareness for and preventing child abuse. Post a selfie to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using #StopTheHurt. Send us your photos and we will include them in a video!

4.25 – Blue Sunday

Blue Sunday is a day where the faith community comes together to make a collective promise to raise awareness for and prevent child abuse. If your church or congregation would like to participate, please contact us at info@hcwc.org for more information!

4.28 – Denim Day

Join HCWC in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month on Wednesday, April 28th by wearing Denim and posting pictures social media with the hashtag #DenimDay. Denim day is a day to show solidarity for victims of sexual harassment and assault.
