HCWC hosted our first Designer Purse Bingo on Saturday, October 26th at the Lockhart Evening Lions Club. Over $20,000 was raised to support victims of abuse in Caldwell & Hays counties. More than 300 community members attended and participated in 21 rounds of Bingo, the prize for each round was a designer handbag. Individuals and businesses in our communities donated each of the 21 beautiful purses.

Participants purchased extra game cards to increase their chances of winning their favorite designer bags. In addition to winning the Bingo rounds, there was a Silent Auction and door prize winners! In the end, everyone who participated won by supporting victims of abuse.

Event guests were encouraged to wear purple, the color of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is October. All of the purple clothing was a wonderful sight to see, it was a reminder of the amount of support there is for victims of abuse in our community.
