Monetary Donations

Donations to HCWC are vital to help individuals and families get safe and heal from violence and abuse.

The Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center (HCWC) is a local non-profit offering free and confidential services to adults, youth, and children who have experienced family violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and child abuse who live, work, or attend school in Hays and Caldwell Counties.

We also provide primary prevention education to youth at local schools and education to the community about these issues as well as the services we provide.

Non-Monetary Donations

Donations other than cash are accepted by appointment. Before bringing donations to HCWC, please refer to the Donation Drop Off Calendar below. You can also call us at (512)938-5744 if you have any questions.

Because of our limited storage, we will let you know if we still need the item(s) and where to drop them off.

Unfortunately, we can no longer accept car seats and baby beds that are not brand new (paperwork attached) due to the safety risks and potential recalls.

Please do not leave bags or boxes outside the Donation Center after hours.

REQUIREMENTS

  • There can be no stains on donated items.
  • There can be no pet hair on donated items.
  • All clothes must be in season.
  • All drop off items must be new in the package.
  • We cannot take car seats, baby furniture, toys, or cradles/rockers if used.

  • Donated food cannot be expired.
  • The packaged food cannot be damaged.
  • Donated food must be unopened in the original packaging.
  • Frozen food cannot expire within the next three months.

  • Brand New Kid’s Underwear (we accept clothing for all sizes and genders)
  • Bras
  • New Socks
  • Children & Youth Clothing

REQUIREMENTS

  • There can be no stains on donated items, including hats and shoes.
  • There can be no pet hair on donated items.
  • Donated clothes must be in season.

REQUIREMENTS

  • All donated items must be full size, we do not accept travel size items.
  • Items cannot be opened/tampered with.

Additional Information

We try to keep donations that are in very good (or near-new) condition. We will always take brand-new donations, and store them for an appropriate time when needed (i.e. winter clothes for winter, etc.).

Furniture items must be pre-approved before donating.
