HEARTeam
The Hospital Emergency Advocate Response Team provides 24-hour crisis response to the hospital for survivors of sexual assault and family violence. HEARTeam advocates (trained volunteers and staff) can provide support for the survivor, as well as friends and family. HEARTeam advocates help explain the evidence collection process, listen to the survivor, or sit in supportive silence. HEARTeam advocates have information on the effects of abuse and can share information about other services HCWC provides to help during the recovery and healing process.
All of our services are free and confidential.
HELPline
The HELPline is a 24-hour, confidential crisis and information line for victims of abuse and their supportive loved ones. HELPline advocates (trained volunteers and staff) answer calls 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Most calls are from victims of family violence or sexual assault seeking services, such as counseling or shelter. Many calls, however, are from loved ones who want to know how to support their friend or family member who has been abused. Callers can also get basic information about HCWC services, as well as information about other community resources that may benefit them.
Whether your abuse happened a long time ago or is still going on,
HCWC is available to help you.
